The Merida Big Nine 7000 is an extreme cross-country hardtail mountain bike designed for hard racing and ultra-long marathon efforts. It’s a real hard hitter thanks to its CF3 carbon frame which absorbs vibrations for a smoother, more comfortable ride and its lightweight, stiff frame ensures compliance as you race around the track. While the modern racing geometry of the Big Nine 7000 is agressive so you can chase the best line on varied terrain first time, every time! Featuring a long reach, steep 73.5° seat angle and slack 70° head angle for aggressive agility with a good dose of stability this is a bike you can power up climbs on and shred through twisty technical sections with ease before descending through loose aggressive terrain with issue. With the bulletproof 1×12 Speed Shimano XT Shadow+ rear derailleur equipped as standard, you’ll be more than capable of crunching through hard climbs thanks to its smooth efficiency and clean gear changes, while the wide range ensures you can shred down the mountain. Naturally, Merida has selected the ‘Gold Standard’ single chainring setup for minimum hassle and maintenance when you’re properly in the zone.
The Big Nine 7000 comes equipped with the latest RockShox SID SL Select Tapered Air Fork (44mm offset) with remote lockout and 100mm of travel for a smooth and agile ride. With such a clean cockpit you’ve got enough room to add a dropper post to the Merida Big Nine 7000 Mountain bike thanks to the frame coming equipped with dropper post ready internal cable mounting options. Merida has chosen Reynolds TR 309/289 XC Carbon Wheels for significant weight savings and general rider improvements which have been complimented by the choice of Maxxis Ikon 2.2″ Tyres all round for the ultimate cross-country experience. While you can ride with confidence, hitting every descent or turn hard thanks to the ever-reliable 2 Piston Shimano XT Hydraulic Disc Brakes and big 180mm Shimano RT54 rotor up front which give you unparalleled control in all conditions. Feature a 30.9 mm seat post with an the enhanced connection area that increases the strength around the top tube/seat tube join and allows the option of fitting a dropper seat post.
