The Merida One Sixty 400 is an aggressive dual suspension mountain bike that thrives on technical trails and downhills. An aggressive ride comes from aggressive race-proven geometry with super short chainstays, longer reach and slacker head angles that add playfulness and agility to the lightweight alloy frame. The RockShox Yari RC Fork with 170mm travel and trunnion mounted RockShox Deluxe Select+ Rear Shock form a winning combination. The Float Link Suspension ensures that that shock mount moves with the system for improved pedalling efficiency and plushness.
The 11 speed Shimano Deore Drivetrain offers simple and efficient brilliance, perfect for tackling tough trails. While the Deore 4 Piston Hydraulic Disc Brakes give you braking control in any weather for improved confidence while you’re rolling on 27.5″ Maxxis Assegai Front Tyre and 27.5″ Maxxis Dissector Rear Tyre for the optimal blend of speed and control. The 400 differs from its big brother in the 700 in a few key areas, conceptually the bikes are the same, however the 700 is kitted out with a 12 Speed Shimano XT Groupset as well as a Marzocchi Z1 Fork and Fox Performance Float DPX2 Rear Shock. Ultimately the Merida One Sixty 400 is a very impressive bike with a suspension setup that maximises both comfort and performance for a dynamic ride that really excels on challenging terrain.
Float Link Suspension: The lower shock mount moves with the system to deliver plushness and pedalling efficiency. Our engineers can precisely influence the transmission ratio and progression, which means a ‘Float Link’ system appears to offer more travel than the ONE-SIXTY name suggests. The rear end of the ONE-SIXTY creates the feeling of almost bottomless travel whilst remaining perfectly controlled when climbing.
Trunnion Mount: A trunnion mount shock gives our frame designers more flexibility by using a shorter shock with increased stroke. Combined with the ball bearing bushing of the upper mount, shock sensitivity is increased, and the suspension performance can be perfectly tuned.
Boost Technology: The entire ONE-SIXTY range offers Boost technology at the front and rear. The shallower axle standard of 110 mm (front) and 148 mm (rear) allows for a wider spoke angle, resulting in a stiffer and stronger wheel, hugely beneficial on trail and enduro bikes given the impacts they endure.
Aggressive Geometry: Race-proven and loved by the international cycling press, our ONE-SIXTY combines super short 430 mm chainstays for increased agility and playfulness, with a long reach, slack head angles and a low centre of gravity, delivering an aggressive enduro geometry.
